MCCQE Part 1: Exam Dates & Scheduling
Overview
The MCCQE Part I is offered multiple times throughout the year in designated testing windows. Proper scheduling is crucial for your exam success, as test centers fill quickly during popular dates.
Upcoming Exam Dates
Based on the official MCC website, here are the upcoming exam sessions:

*Results for the April 2025 session will take longer due to a standard-setting exercise.
**Results for April 2026 session and future April sessions will be available 5 weeks after the last day.
Please note that as of April 2025, the MCCQE Part I follows a new assessment model that includes only single best-answer multiple-choice questions.
Scheduling Process
Application Timeline
- Application: On an ongoing basis through your physiciansapply.ca account
- Scheduling window: Available 5 months prior to the start of each exam session
- Appointment booking: First-come, first-served basis (popular dates and locations fill quickly)
Booking Steps
- Apply through your physiciansapply.ca account
- Once your application is accepted, you'll receive confirmation of eligibility
- Schedule your appointment on the Prometric website
- Receive a 16-digit confirmation number and appointment details by email
Important: A specific MCCQE Part I session date cannot be guaranteed. If you have a deadline to meet for receiving your results, schedule early enough to allow for unexpected circumstances. Test centers fill quickly, so book as soon as possible once eligible.
Testing Options
- Test center appointment: Take the exam at a Prometric test center
- Remote proctoring: Take the exam from your own location under online supervision (requires meeting specific technical requirements)
Rescheduling and Cancellation
- Up to 30 days before exam: CAN$50+HST fee
- Less than 30 days before exam: CAN$85+HST fee
- Less than 120 hours before exam: Fees forfeited (except in extenuating circumstances with documentation)
Exam Fees
Fees are subject to change. As of 2023, the MCCQE Part I examination fee was approximately CAN$1,453. This does not include any additional fees for rescheduling or other services.
